This Is Not a Government Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot pull criminal records, run official background checks, remove or correct a record, or accept expungement filings for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the right government office directly.
Need an Official Record?
Use the record type to choose the Mercer County or Illinois custodian:
- Court case files: see criminal court case records, or contact the Mercer County Circuit Clerk
- Criminal histories and conviction inquiries: contact Illinois State Police, Division of Justice Services, Bureau of Identification
- Arrest, booking, and jail records: contact the Mercer County Sheriff and Jail, unless another police agency made the arrest
- Official state checks: use the Illinois State Police UCIA name-inquiry or licensed live-scan fingerprint channel
- Police reports and incident records: contact the agency that wrote the report
- Expungement and sealing: file approved forms with the Circuit Clerk for the court case
For sheriff, arrest, incident, booking, or local registration records, contact the Mercer County Sheriff, 906 SW 3rd Street, Aledo, IL 61231, at 309-582-5194. The jail line is 309-582-5020. Call first because separate records-counter hours are not posted.
